Community Speech CampFor children who have difficulty using social language/pragmatics skills in their communityText Box: 1:4 ratio, enrollment limited to 6 children per group A new social language/pragmatics skill learned and practiced each week through role-playing experiences and games Campers will participate in planning and attending community outings where they can use the learned pragmatics or speech sound production in fun, real-life situations Opportunities for parent participation during community outings to facilitate campers’ learning of skills and increase carryover of skills to the home environment Children will receive individualized attention from a licensed speech therapist as well as peer modeling for all social language/pragmatic skills Games, role-play activities, art, and cooking to make social skills and/or speech sound production fun Text Box: By completing this camp, campers will learn to: Use appropriate conversation skills such as turn-taking, topic maintenance, small talk, and greetings Demonstrate appropriate eye contact, body language, and awareness of others’ personal space Produce age-appropriate speech sounds to communicate during every day activities using clean fluent speech **A small fee will be required for most outings Text Box: When Session 1: June 15-July 15 3 days a week 1.5 hour sessions Mondays, Tuesdays, & Wednesdays 4-5:30 pm Text Box: Fee $855.75 per child for five-week session 50% deposit is required Text Box: Where San Jose Clinic Contact Please call the Office Manager at 408-972-2852 ext. 101 to enroll www.cslot.com
