See Information for Occupational Therapists

We are a team of business professionals committed to bringing the finest therapeutic services to our clients while contributing to the ongoing success and positive reputation of CSLOT.

Why Private Practice?

There are many employment settings open to speech pathologists. We think that our private practice is the best setting of all. CSLOT is a private practice which provides unique advantages which are not found in other settings.

At CSLOT, there are over twenty speech and language pathologists and occupational therapists, which means that clinicians have ready access to each other to share professional concerns, ask questions, observe treatment sessions, and offer and gain support. Supervision is close at hand, especially for new clinicians in their year of Required Professional Experience or Clinical Fellows seeking their Certificates of Clinical Competence.

At CSLOT, we treat a variety of clients, children and adults, mild to severe, with a variety of presenting disorders.

At CSLOT, we promote collaboration between departments. Our occupational therapists work side-by-side with our speech and language therapists, co-treating clients in group or individual therapy. Clinical aides provide assistance to clinicians such as planning treatment materials and providing extra hands for helping with difficult clients.

At CSLOT, we are able to work with families and parents, giving them hands-on training and involvement.

At CSLOT, our staff participates in developing new programs to meet their communities’ needs.

At CSLOT, when the clinicians have a particular interest, we support them in developing it.

At CSLOT, we are not constrained by a large bureaucracy which does not listen to our concerns.

At CSLOT, clinicians learn what it means to be business professionals, working together to make a company strong, which in turn gives security and a better quality of life for its employees.

How to Join Our Team

The hiring process for SLP’s goes like this: Send your resume by email to ccowan@cslot.com or by fax to C. Cowan (510) 794-1912. Once the resume is received, you will be called to schedule an interview appointment with the clinical directors of the three offices, Fremont, San Jose and Los Altos. The interview may be a panel format, or consist of individual visits to the offices. For candidates from outside of the Bay Area, the interview may be conducted by phone. After the interview, you inform us of your continued interest, and the clinical directors then make a recommendation to the Executive Director as to whether you would be a good fit for CSLOT. The Executive Director then calls you to answer any of your questions, etc., and if you continue to be interested and vice versa, sends you an offer letter after following up with your references.
