evaluation
at a later date. Our
staff uses a variety of methods, using objects and play in order
to obtain information regarding how a child understands and
speaks. A hearing screening similar to that done in pediatricians'
offices is also conducted. Using earphones, the child listens
to several tones at various loudness levels. Informally, the
speech pathologist listens for the presence of a fluency (stuttering)
or voice disorder.
Screenings are accomplished in approximately 20-25 minutes per
child. Clinicians are available by phone
or email
to answer any questions regarding a school screening.
